Matt Barney, Stefanie Wind, and Vaishak Krishna: AI-Quantified Ethics: Enhanced Persuasion Analysis through Advanced Rasch Models

About the speakers:

Matt Barney is an Organizational Psychologist, serial entrepreneur and founder of XLNC, a startup creating Rasch measures for trustworthy AI measurement, evaluation and feedback. Previously, he was the Founder and CEO of LeaderAmp, an award-winning platform for expert and Artificially Intelligent coaching and assessment with customers including Facebook, DropBox and the International Coaching Federation. In his 30 year career in organizations such as AT&T, Motorola, Merck, Sutter Health and Infosys, Dr. Barney has innovated interdisciplinary science and technology resulting in four patents, ten books, 45 peer-reviewed works and over 200 keynotes. In 2018, his team won two competitive international AI psychometrics awards from the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology and the Association of Test Publishers. Since 2014, he has served on the Business Affairs committee of the board of not-for-profit scientific publisher Annual Reviews. He holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison; and Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Tulsa.

Stefanie A. Wind is an Associate Professor of Educational Measurement at the University of Alabama. Her primary research interests include the exploration of methodological issues in the field of educational measurement, with emphases on methods related to rater-mediated assessments, rating scales, Rasch models and item response theory models, and nonparametric item response theory, as well as applications of these methods to substantive areas related to education.

Vaishak Krishna is a senior at UC Berkeley studying Computer Science. He has developed a deep interest in backend engineering and the intricate process of shaping product prototypes. Recently, he has been exploring the realm of AI measurement under the guidance of Dr. Matt Barney, finding the experience both enlightening and humbling. Still on a continuous learning journey, he is keen to merge his evolving grasp of backend systems with the insights from AI, aspiring to make thoughtful contributions to the field in the coming years.
