1. Do I have to confine the submission to the papers presented at the three conferences?
No, they are just a starting point--if you have something else that is recent and relevant, you can send that in.
2. If more than one paper has been presented, would the editorial board have any preference (e.g. application vs. theoretical development; comparative studies vs cross-sectional, etc.) on the themes and the nature of the manuscripts?
We have no fixed preferences. In fairness, we are expecting to publish only one paper per author. If you have more than one, and are not sure which to send, then we would be happy to talk about that with you.
3. In relation to question 2, what are the expected sections and the overall theme of ARM2?
The sections will likely be similar to the sections in the earlier "Objective Measurement: Theory into Practice" volumes (Ablex: NJ) and, of course, Advances in Rasch Measurement Volume 1. We have not usually had a theme for them, beyond Rasch measurement. Although, there is usually a mix of theoretical modeling and empirical/applied papers.
4. What is the format (e.g. length, blind review, APA style, layout, etc.) required of the electronic submissions in PDF format due on June 1?
We will have blind review of all submissions, and expect the papers to be in APA style and layout. We have not specified a page limit, but you should expect that lengths typical of journal papers will be OK.
5. Will those who submit papers also be expected to serve as reviewers?
Yes, we expect folks who have submitted papers to join in the review process.
6. Yes, I am interested in submitting a paper. However, I am not sure the type of paper you are looking for e.g. is it a paper on a research project, carried out on respondents using Rasch Measurement? Or is it a paper on the use of Rasch measurement, without using any actual respondents….Can you suggest possible approaches on writing the paper?
While we would like to be as helpful as possible, we can assist with the reviewing and editing, but we do not see directing the content and structure of a paper as our role.
7. Will we be able to produce figures in color for this publication?
Unfortunately, no.
8. Is there any leeway on the submission date of June 1st?
No, we are not planning any exceptions. We have a rather tight reviewing schedule this summer.
