Yukie Toyama

Job title:
Researcher
Bio/CV:

I am a graduate student researcher in the Quantitative Methods & Evaluation program. I am interested in researching text and language complexity involved in testing to inform the field about test accommodations and item designs to make assessments fairer and accessible to struggling readers, including English Language Learners. I am also interested in investigating growth in student reading ability using IRT models. Currently, I am involved in BEAR Center's project to develop classroom assessments of science practices for upper elementary and middle school students as well as consulting work for designing and validating assessments within Keplan's online composition course. In my spare time (if there is any between the school and family), I enjoy going to a Zumba class.
